- Back-to-back wins over Newcastle and Cardiff has moved West Ham up to 12th and, crucially, nine points away from safety. However, the Hammers have previously looked as though they’d turned a corner and they must now avoid getting carried away as the fixtures begin to pile up.
- Despite playing against 10 men for over an hour on Tuesday night, Crystal Palace still fell to a 3-1 loss at the hands of rivals Brighton at the Amex. The win over Burnley last weekend at least gave them some breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone, yet key absences here may prevent Roy Hodgson’s side from ending a five-match winless run away from home.
