- Joshua King and Callum Wilson are both injury concerns for Bournemouth and Eddie Howe will be desperate to have both available on Wednesday.
- Bournemouth were not involved in the FA Cup over the weekend and have had over a week to prepare for the reception of Chelsea here.
- Asmir Begovic was dropped by Howe last time out and it remains to be seen whether he will get his place back after Artur Boruc kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over West Ham.
- Chris Mepham has trained well but may have to settle for a place on the bench following his arrival from Brentford earlier this month.

- Gonzalo Higuain will make his Premier League debut for Chelsea after starting their 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup on Sunday.
- Eden Hazard was given the weekend off by Maurizio Sarri and will return to the starting XI here, playing alongside January signing Higuain for the first time.
- Callum Hudson-Odoi scored against Wednesday but may have played his final game for the club after handing in a transfer request to try and force through a move to Bayern Munich.
- Daniel Drinkwater is the only injury concern for Chelsea, though he has no future at the club and wouldn’t have made the squad anyway.
- Emerson appears to have jumped above Marcos Alonso in the pecking order for places in the last week.
- Bournemouth ended a five-game winless streak with a 2-0 victory over West Ham last time out. The Cherries were not involved in the FA Cup over the weekend and have had a long time to prepare for Wednesday’s home encounter with Chelsea.
- Chelsea should have restored some confidence in the last week after advancing to the Carabao Cup final and fifth round of the FA Cup. Chelsea are fourth but their three point lead over Arsenal and Manchester United could be gone by the time they play Bournemouth on Wednesday.
- Chelsea have only won three of their last eight away games in all competitions and have lost their last two on the road. Bournemouth will represent a tricky proposition for Maurizio Sarri’s side but they should still overcome the Cherries.
