- Joe Bryan recovered from injury to start against Crystal Palace last weekend. The former Bristol City defender has fond memories against Manchester United after scoring against them in a League Cup upset last season.
- Lazar Markovic and Havard Nordtveit, who both signed for Fulham on deadline day, won’t be considered for their debuts until next week.
- Marcus Bettinelli is again ruled out for Fulham, but Cyrus Christie is fine to play here. Timothy Fosu-Mensah is ineligible to face his parent side.

- Marcos Rojo is set to return to first-team training this week, though won’t be considered for selection. Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian have both been ruled out for a couple of weeks, though neither would have featured anyway.
- Victor Lindelof was not spotted with the rest of the Manchester United squad that travelled to London on Friday, suggesting he has been given the weekend off ahead of next week’s tie with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
- Chris Smalling has made the trip, though hasn’t played since United thrashed Fulham at the start of December and may only make the bench. Eric Bailly and Phil Jones could start at centre-back together in a Premier League game for the first time since October 2017.
- Lindelof is not the only first-team regular expected to be rested this weekend. Marcus Rashford, who suffered a dead leg last weekend, could make way for Romelu Lukaku, while Anthony Martial, who is fit again after injury, should also come back into the XI.
- Fulham have lost five of their last six matches in all competitions. They did, however, win their last home game.
- Manchester United have won nine of their 10 matches in all competitions since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho.
- This match kickstarts an incredibly difficult run of games for United and it’s vital they get off to a winning start.
- United are clear favourites but cannot afford to look past Fulham at the tougher matches on the horizon.
