Roma and Napoli go head-to-head in the eighth round of the Italian Serie A. The game will be a massive test for Napoli’s title ambitions. Currently, the away team are first in the table with a fascinating seven wins in seven games which puts them two points ahead of last year’s champion – Juventus.
Roma, on the other hand, are fifth in the table with 15 points to their name and are also title contenders. The Wolves are in a series of five consecutive wins in all tournaments and will be hoping their great run will continue against Napoli.
In their last game, Roma won away at San Siro against Milan with a result of 2:0. Prior to that, they won over Udinese (3:1), Benevento (4:0) and Verona (3:0) in Serie A. Additionally, they beat Karabakh with 2:1 in the CL. The wolves have won 11 of their last 15 games on their home ground which makes them one of the best home playing teams in the league. They’ve scored in 34 consecutive games on their own turf and it is very possible they will be doing that again.
Napoli have won ten of their last 11 official games since the start of the season. It is obvious that Napoli will be fierce title contenders against Juventus. They have played fantastically and a lot of that can be credited to Dries Mertens. The Belgian has seven goals in seven games while Napoli scores at least three goals of each of their away games so far. Considering such goal form by the away team and Roma’s excellent home form, it is obvious the game will be full with goals.
