Manchester City are leading in group F and by the looks of it they will be claiming a position in the elimination phase of the Champion’s League.
City have clinched two victories in their first two games in the group, beating Feyenoord and Shakhtar Donetsk with 4-0 and 2-0 respectively.
In the EPL, City have been playing exceptionally and will be entering the game against Napoli after their win over Stoke with 7-2. After that win, the team continues to be undefeated in the new season, with their only draw being against Everton in the second round of the EPL.
The team from Manchester are certainly in a great form with barely any weak points. Guardiola’s work over the defensive line has made it absolutely unbreakable – 0 conceded goals in their last seven games in all tournaments prior to the game with Stoke.
On the other hand, Napoli lost their first game in the Champion’s League group stage in their visit against Shakhtar Donetsk. The team are third in the group but if they leave with no points from Ettihad stadium it is quite possible they will not continue into the elimination phase of the tournament.
Despite their loss against the Ukrainian team, Napoli are in fantastic shape. They are the current leaders in the Serie A standings after winning 8 matches out of 8 games that have been so far played in their league. They have scored on average 2.5 goal in their last 10 games. In the past weekend they were able to secure a win against rivals Roma.
Last time these two teams met in the group phase of the CL was during season 2011/2012 where City lost 2-1, while the game in England ended in a draw.
Yet, today, it is hard to point at a team in the world that could win a point against City in their current run.
