The Philadelphia 76ers pay a visit to the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena on Thursday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been on a nice run lately as they’ve won six of their last eight games and they will be looking to stay hot after blowing past the shorthanded Lakers in a 121-105 road win on Tuesday. Joel Embiid led the team with 28 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Jimmy Butler added 20 points with six assists and five steals while Ben Simmons chipped in with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 45 percent from the field and 15 of 36 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory after they jumped out to an early 24-point lead in the second quarter. With the easy win, Philadelphia improved to 33-18 overall and 12-13 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been on a tear lately as they’ve won 13 of their last 14 games and they will be looking to build on their season-high 11-game win streak after blowing past the Pacers in a 132-100 road win on Monday. Stephen Curry led the team with 26 points on 10 of 13 shooting, DeMarcus Cousins added 22 points with six rebounds and four assists while Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson each scored 16 points. As a team, the Warriors shot a healthy 54 percent from the field and 13 of 31 from the 3-point line but this game looked over before it really began as the Warriors were already up by 21 points late in the first quarter. With the easy win, Golden State improved to 36-14 overall and 18-8 on the road.
The 76ers are building some nice momentum with six wins in their last eight games, but the Warriors have been on another level lately as they come into this one fresh off an 11th straight win in dominant fashion against the Pacers. The 76ers are just 5-12 ATS in their last 17 meetings in Golden State and I think that trend continues here as the Warriors have been on fire and I don’t see them cooling off anytime soon.
